November 8, 2008 - D&M Racing went to the annual awards banquet for the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders. We knew that we were going to receive our award for our 7th place driver and owner points, but receiving the 2008 Cornwell Tools Most Improved Driver Award was definitely a surprise! I was very proud and honored to receive this award! Dad and I have been working very hard, and I think we're on the right track with our program. We're going to take the things we learned in 2008 and try to have an even better 2009! Shawn Robertson joined D&M Racing in August of 2008 and we're looking forward to having him and his outstanding work back with us for 2009! Also, many thanks to the Sprint Invaders Association and all of the sponsors for all of the great contingency prizes!

October 4, 2008 - Season Championship for the Sprint Invaders Series. In the heat race, we would start 5th and take home the final transfer spot in the 4th heat in 4th place. We would start the A main 16th, and while running 10th, when the 53H came out of turn 4 two cars were flipping down the front straightaway. I went to the low side of the track and into the infield. While going through the infield another car flipped over my left rear tire causing top wing damage yet again for the 2nd night. We were able to finish the race, but the car was a handful not only in the corners with a bent left rear shock and damaged top wing, but it was also a handful down the straightaway. We would finish 18th out of the 22 that started the A main in a 39 car field.

October 3, 2008 - Herb Barlow Memorial race. We started the heat race 2nd and would take 2nd in the heat race. In the dash we were a little loose and we would come across the finish line 6th. In the feature we got a little stacked up on the start resulting in the rear top wing stand getting damaged and we were unable to continue, giving us a 19th place finish. Everyone that raced at Jacksonville was appreciative of the great awards given by the Barlow family!

September 29, 2008 - September always brings D&M racings favorite race of the year- the Tom Knowles Memorial at Spoon River Speedway. We started on the outside of the front row for the heat race and grabbed the lead going into the first corner. We led the whole heat race until the 2nd place runner found some grip off of the low side coming out of turn 2 on the white flag lap. We came to the finish line right on their rear bumper, but didn't have enough to grab the win. We felt good about the heat race run all the same. In the feature, we started 5th and were running 7th when coming out of turn 4 (3 wide) when we ran out of real estate taking all 3 of us out. We would end up 17th due to not being able to finish the race with nose wing damage and a flat left rear tire. We'll press on and give it all we've got at Jacksonville on Friday and Burlington on Saturday for the season championship!

September 20, 2008 - We started the heat race 4th and were running 3rd when some cars made contact and got together in front of me, I had no where to go and hit one of the cars on the way by. We were able to continue the heat race, but with a bent jacobs ladder and a right rear shock missing. With a bouncy and wobbly car I was able to maintain 4th in the heat race. We made repairs after the heat race and in the feature. I started 12th and survived to a 6th place finish. Dad and I were happy to take the checkered flag in all our races at Quad City Raceway after putting our spare chassis together to finish the season after our crash at Columbus Junction on August 31st.

September 1, 2008 - Things didn't quite turn out the way we wanted at Columbus Junction last night. We didn't get a very good start in the heat race, and ended up fifth. In the feature while running twelth trying to work my way into the top 10 a car I was passing got a little loose coming out of turn 4 and we ended up getting together. This sent me into a series of flips down the front straightaway. I'm fine, but D&M racing now has to try to get a car put together to run the next race September 7th at Quincy Raceway. Also, special thanks to Ryan Jamison and his pit crew for helping us get the car loaded into the trailer last night. It was no small task!

August 16, 2008 - First of all I have to thank our engine builder Manny Rockhold of Automotive Machine, and Brian Greenlee for all the help they gave me on Saturday night 8/16/08. I truly wouldn't have been able to race without their help. Dad was at home resting up after surgery that he had during the week. 31 cars were in attendance at 34 Raceway in Burlington, IA. We were able to finish 4th in our heat race on Twin Features night giving us a starting spot directly to the A Main. In the 1st feature we got a terrible start, but were working our way through the race somewhere in the top 10 when the left rear brake rotor (which does 70% of the braking) broke off 6 laps into the race. We were fortunate in the fact that a piece of the rotor stayed in the caliper keeping the brake pads in so we didn't loose all the fluid out of the master cylinder. In the 2nd feature I started 3rd and survived to a 7th place finish with virtually no brakes. Without Manny dialing in the fuel settings on the engine so well I don't know if I could've hung onto 7th place in the feature. We remain 7th in Sprint Invaders points.

August 3, 2008 - We will be racing at Knoxville, IA in the Brodix Tournament of Champions. The Brodix Tournament of Champions brings together the best of the most prolific sprint car class in the world - "360" Sprint Cars. For 2007 there were 25 different regional and national Series that will be represented in this unique "invitational" race on the historic Knoxville Raceway 1/2 mile.

July 13, 2008 - At Cedar County Raceway in Tipton, IA we set the car up a little too loose for the heat race giving us a 5th place finish. In the feature we had the car dialed in a little better but we were only able to get an 11th place finish. Not a great not, not a bad night either. We're gonna gear up this week for a little more non wing action Saturday night at the 1/3 mile Lincoln IL Speedway!

July 11, 2008 - At Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, IA we started the heat race on the outside of the front row. We would win the heat race by 1/2 a straightaway giving us a starting spot in the dash. In the dash, I started on the pole and ran 2nd. In the feature while running 6th I must have ran over some debris on the track, because the inside sidewall of the left rear tire had about a six inch gash in it. Due to this we were unable to finish the feature race relegating us to an 18th place finish in the feature. That's a tough way to end the night, but we were tickled to death to take a win in the heat race and run a strong 2nd in the dash. On to Tipton, IA Sunday night!

July 7, 2008 - Raced at West Liberty, IA with the Sprint Invaders. Got everything figured out after the mishap that happened on June 24 and many thanks to the people who helped us get back on the track. We started the heat race 4th and finished 3rd. In the "A" Main, we started 7th and slowly but surely worked our way up to 2nd place. The car was hooked up great. Dad and I were ecstatic!

June 25, 2008 - Raced at Jacksonville, IL in a Non-Wing 410 show. Ran 3rd in the heat race. Finished off the night 7th in the feature. The real fun started on the way home. While attempting to stop in Lincoln, Il for fuel, we were rear-ended by Big Brown. Not exactly sure what condition everything is in, but we should have a better idea where we stand on June 30.

June 20, 2008 - Raced with Midwest All-Stars at Spoon River Speedway. Ran 5th in the heat race. Ran 4th in the B-Main and 13th in the Feature.

June 6, 2008 - Race at Jacksonville, IL canceled due to rain. Will try again Jacksonville on June 13.

June 1, 2008 - Raced in the 410c.i. race at Quincy. Won the heat race from the pole, but started the feature 16th due to Midwest All-Stars rules. Finished the feature 15th. We have a heat race win under our belt and some good notes to take with us when the 360c.i. Sprint Invaders Series visits Quincy Raceway in September.

May 26, 2008 - Rained out at Qunicy, IL. Will run this weekend at Quincy weather permitting.

May 25, 2008 - Finished 2nd in heat race & 5th in Feature at Burlington, IA. Sprint Invaders.

May 23, 2008 - Finished 2nd in heat race & 5th in Feature running at Jacksonville, IL. Non-Wing

May 16, 2008 - Raced at Jacksonville Raceway in Jacksonville, IL. Finished 9th in the Feature.

May 9, 2008 - Finished 10th in Feature at Jacksonville, IL. Non-Wing

May 5, 2008 - Raced at 34 Raceway in Burlington, IA. Finished 11th in the Feature.

May 2, 2008 - Jacksonville, IL. Non-Wing. Moving up through field and made contact with another car. Tore up front axle giving us a 14th place finish in the Feature.

April 19, 2008 - Sprint Invaders Race - 11th in Feature at Burlington, IA 34 Raceway.
